X does not offer a save button. Videos play inside the timeline and disappear the moment a post is deleted or an account goes private, which is why people who want to keep a clip — a news segment, a goal, a tutorial thread, their own upload — reach for a downloader. This page does exactly one thing: it takes a public post URL, finds the video file behind it, and hands you an MP4.
Everything runs in the browser, so there is nothing to install and nothing to sign into. You never enter your X password, because the tool only ever reads what X already shows to logged-out visitors. That also sets the boundary: public posts work, protected accounts do not.

iPhone and iPad: Safari saves downloads to the Files app under Downloads. Open the file there, tap the share icon and choose Save Video to move it into Photos.
Android: Chrome writes the MP4 to your Downloads folder; most gallery apps index it within a minute. Windows, macOS and Linux: the file goes to your browser’s normal download location and can be imported straight into any editor.
Being straight about the limits saves you time. Protected (private) accounts, deleted posts, and clips restricted by age or region will not process, because their media is not publicly served. Livestreams that are still running have no finished file to fetch. Quote-tweet links sometimes point at the wrapper rather than the post holding the video — open the original post and copy that link instead. And the output can never be sharper than the upload: a 480p clip stays 480p, whatever a site promises about “HD conversion”.
A public post being downloadable does not make the footage yours. Saving a clip to watch offline, to keep a copy of your own upload, or to reference in research is ordinary use. Re-uploading someone else’s video as your own content, monetising it, or stripping credit is not — it can breach copyright as well as the X terms of service. When you repost, name the original account and link back to the post.
